A simple speedometer script that's just a speedometer, but with a few extras! Rev up that nostalgia!
Image by I'm Not MentaL, thank you!
Features
- Exact visual copy of the NFSU speedometer
- KM/H or MPH display
- Gear display
- RPM gauge
- Turbo gauge
- N2O Support
- Drag HUD (TheLorizz)
N2O bars are displayed when the vehicle has a rocket boost, or a mod is installed that supports this speedo.
Requirements
GTA V v1.0.877.1 to 1.0.1290.1
ScriptHookV
Installation
Drop iktSpeedo.asi and the iktSpeedo folder in the GTA V root directory.
Open the menu
F8 to open the menu. Key can be changed in iktSpeedo/settings_menu.ini.
"iktspeedo" to open the menu. Cheat string can be changed in iktSpeedo/settings_menu.ini.
Integration
Eddlm's Realistic Nitro
Lorizz's NFS Nitro Mod
I'm Not MentaL's More Realistic Nitro
Manual Transmission
Making skins
In settings_general.ini under [DEV], set ShowPlacementMenu to true. This allows you to move and resize bits.
The script scans for an ini file and a folder with the same name. If both are found, it's considered a skin, and you can choose it in the menu. Setting a custom default skin is possible by just changing in settings_general.ini under [SETTINGS] the Default option to the name of your skin.
There's no speed dial right now and it isn't on the list, but if for some reason it's wanted I'll see how I can add it. Provide a visual mock-up so I can plan things out.
Future changes
This script is still in v0.0.1, so changes might happen. Visually it's as-is, but functionality might be added or streamlined. Especially if you are skinning this, be aware of breakage happening, but I'll always mention it in the changelogs.

@PlantedZebra You can CHANGE idle and max RPMs from settings. In GTA car engine value at idle is 0.2 and at full throttle it's 1.0 that's why he put these values. For example I set my idle RPM to 900 when you tweaking your idle and max you should check it everytime when I reduced idle RPM to 1000 I saw that max RPM dropped to 9000 you should play with both idle and max RPM settings until you find what you prefer.

@NB370 Uhh, what settings? In the four configuration settings (.ini) of this mod, there is NOTHING that changes the idle RPM.
05 dicembre 2017 -
@PlantedZebra
RPMDialZeroRot is where it points when off. Currently it's at 0.125000, but you should be able to decrease this a bit.
RPMDialFullRot is how much it can turn. Currently it's 0.500000 (half around the circle), but you can increase this if you decrease the ZeroRot.05 dicembre 2017 -
@PlantedZebra the values ikt mentioned are in ''default.ini'' and the file name is kinda misleading but that file is where it stored if you want to edit values. For example mines ''RPMDialZeroRot = 0.050000 , RPMDialFullRot = 0.571000'' that makes idle at about 900 and max at 10.000. INI METHOD IS BORING better way is you can access these settings by pressing F8 (default) while in game. It will open speedo menu.

Updated mine but menu says 0.0.4 and I didn't notice difference at RPM gauge?
20 dicembre 2017 -
Whoops, fixed version number. Thanks for the report. RPM gauge should work with the first v0.0.5 upload, as this new upload should only fix the version number display.

@ikt Thank you very much for such a wonderful mod! What pleases me is possible to change settings in the game and they are saved! Krasava)))

@ikt liking the desing of it quite a bit, but the rpm set to 10k also irritates me a bit as well...
But for the rpm adjustment per vehicle like in lefix's speedo, I would like to make a suggestion, though idk how difficult it is to implement... But here goes:
Maybe instead of creating a new background for every tier of vehicle like in lefix, just remove the current red bar for redline (at ~9k rpm right now), make the redline adjustable, and have each vehicle class point to a different scale in rpm while using only 1 background. For example, you mentioned that current rpm scale is at a 1.0 which moves up to redline (or ~10k rpm with this background), but if you change scale for trucks to be have a scale of 0.4, then theoretically, rpm should "bounce" once 4000 rpm is reach, as it consider that visual rpm as redline. Then once it's set to redline at that rpm, maybe include a script to add the red bar for redline and extend it all the way to 4k rpm from the current 10k rpm. Again, idk how feasible it is, so it's just a suggestion.Also, can you include a damage indicator and perhaps some sort of performance timer (like 1/4 mile slip times, braking distance, etc.) in next update, as I'm sure those additions will be useful and fun to have (kind of like how some car manufacturers are implementing in their vehicles, like dodge with their performance timers)?

@chang63
The RPM gauge background can be changed but I can't bother right now. I did plan on making them like LeFix did, but I just can't bother. Other stuff is sucking up my time. Multiple textures aren't the problem, motivation is :pNot sure about a damage indicator, but performance metrics would be nice. Maybe some day, if ever.

@ikt Any plans on working on other speedos from other NFS games? Either in a "retexture/skin" way, or a completely new mod? Because I loved the one from MW '05.
11 febbraio 2018 -
@PlantedZebra
You can add your own sprites and move stuff around with the menus after enabling the thing in the ini. I hadn't found a way to make a (partially) circular shrink/small like the NFSU2 nitro bar, so that's something to pay attention to while designing the thing.22 febbraio 2018 -
Well, the problem is... I don't even know how to get myself one of those textures from MW '05... ;(
Partly my fault because I had no knowledge in photo editing, and I don't even have an "advanced" photo editor.23 febbraio 2018 -
@ikt Also, it is way out of my ability to make said retexture.
1. My background editor has limited functionality, so lots of leftover textures were still on the texture.
2. I don't even know where that "Blue tint" of the speedometer/tachometer itself, when I was looking at the .png files all I see is just uncolored textures. I don't even know where the blue came from.
Good Determination? Yes.
Ability to do so? Nope.27 febbraio 2018 -
@PlantedZebra
The blue color is hardcoded. You can try making the script get that from settings too.27 febbraio 2018 -

@ikt I think you should update it to the newest patch. It does not work perfectly. Sometimes the needle spins around like crazy etc.

@ikt Okay ;)
