This is a mod of the Faster AI Drivers mod by Eddlm, to be applied over/after any top speed mod such as Realistic Driving V is applied to your GTA V.
This mod is great fun for use with Community Races or Impromptu Races, and also Street Races mods.
Limitations:
Best tuned to work with Realistic Driving V "scaled" topspeed. It's not tested with "real" topspeed mod although it should surely give AI racers more topspeed and stability.
Sure AI racers still end up off/on the side/top of the cliff because they don't look ahead for off-camber or over the crest road surfaces (not aware of the change in Z-axis). They don't use all of the road either and sometimes go through solid walls. They also don't react quickly enough when the check point is placed too close or smack bang in the apex of the corner (remove those check points and let the AI work out the shortest path!) But they are still more fun than old slow drivers in supercars, particularly when they have a head start.
It is very satisfying to watch the AI supercars make mistake and correct their oversteer or do an extended drift.
The reduction in understeering alone results in lower lap time for AI racers for my community/street races.
Requires:
1. Mods folder
2. Latest openIV
3. A top speed mod such as Realistic Driving V already applied
Installation:
1. Back up your mods\common.rpf & mods\update\update.rpf
2. Using OpenIV, manually replace
mods>update>update.rpf>common>data>ai>vehicleaihandlinginfo.meta with the included file.
Note: Ignore the included .oiv file, it's not necessary.
To uninstall:
Copy your backup update.rpf (from 1 above) overwriting mods\update\update.rpf
Thanks to:
1. Eddlm, author of Faster AI Drivers mod, for the original mod
2. DareDevilYT for the 2 community races from Various Races for Community Races Mod 1.3 used to tune the handling
3. Pianist for the 1 race from Mixed type of Community Races 1.0 used for tuning the handling.
Enjoy!
Change log.
1.1 "AVERAGE" handling class boost: Faster corner speed for long flowing corners, improved braking stability, improved stability at top speed
1.0 Initial release

@wyvernone Can i use this without installing any top speed mod?
@joshbon007 you shouldn't need this if you don't have a more realistic handling. Vanilla handling makes cars act like they're on rails and super braking, so they won't have any problem cornering.
2 things, first the link for Realistic Driving V is wrong, and 2nd , you don't need to edit common.rpf you can just install them in update.rpf/common/data/ai :)
Otherwise seems good, tried only 1 race so far, seemed better
@GreenAid Fixed link thanks.
@joshbon007 I'd use the original Faster AI Drivers if I don't have any top speed mod.
@wyvernone Can i use this mod with realistic top speed and acceleration mod ??
@cazorlas Not tested. But give it a go and see if the mod help the AI racers handle turns/corners better?
@wyvernone can you explain functions of min/maxbrakedistance, MaxSpeedAtBrakeDistance AbsoluteMinSpeed? Can i control AI braking by editing these values?
@tedmed Yes those are for controlling AI braking. Compare my settings vs https://www.gta5-mods.com/misc/vehicleaihandlinginfo and it should be straightforward what the values imply. You can reduce braking by dropping the BrakeDistances (ie. brake later) or increasing MaxSpeed (corner speed).
Sorry that I meant corner entry speed.
I don't have a vehicleaihandlinginfo.meta in mods>update>update.rpf>common>data>ai
Works good with Simcade Handling (https://www.gta5-mods.com/vehicles/sim-cade-handling)? Thanks!
@Shykary wheres that mod gone?
@CamoGeko https://www.gta5-mods.com/vehicles/sim-cade-handling
Lmfao on squiggly roads (like the one by Devon Weston's house on the hill) the cars are actually going too fast that they slide off road and into the vegetated area. Funny shit, They rarely do this though but yeah. I don't really notice cops driving that fast and I found this "Tutorial" earlier that says you need to go in and manually change their "Gear" number from the default 5 (i think) to like 7 or 8. I'm going to look into it because I have Hollywood Rollovers installed (a script) and I want these coppers to driver fast like they would IRL so I can have them do 100 flips when they crash or slide off road lmao. O here's a link to the tutorial: https://forums.gta5-mods.com/topic/2654/faster-police
is this working?
@darkchocolateoo Yeah neither did I. I just placed it there anyhow. Wondering if it's the wrong location now or not. @wyvernone care to enlighten us on this? I noticed when I did a search in openiv, the game's default location for the vehicleaihandlinginfo.meta isn't the same. It shows it here instead: C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto V\common.rpf\data\ai
@wyvernone could the location of this file have changed in the recent game updates? I'm worried I didn't install properly now.
@wyvernone is this still working? Placed file in both commonrpf/data/ai and updaterpf/common/data/ai and the npcs behave the same.
@Sup321V I think I figured it out. This mod is made for when you race the npc's. They drive much faster when you race them (for exemple with the mod impromptu races) but drive the same as vanilla in normal traffic. I'd like the npc's to drive much faster in traffic too but I don't know how to do this. There is maybe a vanilla script that limit the npc's speed in the traffic (for exemple speed limits for specific areas) ?
I just want a mod that increases the speed AI traffic. That's all
they just crash too much
