It has always bugged me that when falling out of the sky to my doom and trying to press the spacebar to use a parachute, nothing happened. I would find myself scrambling to reach for the mouse or the F key as I took a bite out of my home-made sandwich. It's a shame really. Yet today, I'm glad to announce that the mod you've been waiting for is here! You too can finally use the beloved spacebar to open your parachute! Join me, on my journey to end the madness that is the amount of lost sandwiches that have been dropped due to the spacebar's lack of function while skydiving!

USE:
Press the spacebar, or a custom key set in ToggleParachute.ini, to use your parachute.
SETUP:
1. Install ScriptHookV.
2. Install ScriptHookVDotNet.
3. Copy SpaceToParachute.dll and ToggleParachute.ini into your scripts folder inside of your Grand Theft Auto V folder.
4. Play the game in singleplayer.
5. Go for a fly and take a dive!
LEGAL JARGON:
Feel free to use the source code for your own amusement, if you know how..
Do not upload this mod as your own in ANY scenario. If you make a modpack of some sort, and use said mod, I would appreciate credit, but then again, who's going to use this simple of a mod in a pack?

@MAFINS No, just enables the use of a new key for opening your parachute. It can be useful at times when you're eating a sandwich and need to quickly tap the spacebar to prevent your character from dying

hey friend, what if instead of "SPACE" button I want another button?
in the ini file I replaced 'Space' with 'F11' and started the game, so when I press F11 parashute doesn't spawn. Can you tell me whet might be wrong here??

Toggle the parachute and climbing with your grapple with JC2's grappling hook mod by JulioNiB should be fun too!
@duration That's odd. This could be the product of three different outcomes..
1. You've changed the file while playing without reloading your mods.
2. One or both of the files, either "SpaceToParachute.dll" or "ToggleParachute.ini" is missing.
3. You have a conflicting mod using the F11 key.
Or, now that I think about it, 4. You typed a lowercase f instead of F when changing the key to F11. #4 actually doesn't affect the outcome for me, but you might have a lower version of scripthook v dot net installed, or simply don't have it at all which might also be the cause. All in all, if you try all these and it's still not working you can skype me at my username in the mod description.

I think it might be due to the scripthook.net versioning differences.
What version of script hook and scripthook.net you are using friend?

Can assign right d-pad.
@luzair I'm confused as to why you need that... It's as simple as pressing A with an xbox controller. If you really want I can implement it, but I really don't see your problem. Sorry.

@hassonya No. Once you put away your parachute you can't reopen it until you find obtain another one.
