Perfect for the armchair amphibian.
It came to my attention that, somehow, no one had ever uploaded this particular style of hat to any mod website, so publishing this — a hat that has been sitting dormant in my files for months after converting it — was my clarion call.
This is a direct port of Captain Price's boonie from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019). It has been optimised so that just about any PC with any various specs/configurations can spawn the hat in without sacrificing performance.
This mini pack includes the following:
○ Boonie hat with a communications earpiece (best used with high-shoulder tops)
○ Base boonie hat
○ Olive, multicam, digital, maritime, and arctic colour schemes/camo patterns for each hat
As mentioned, the model of the hat with the earpiece is ideally used for tops that somewhat conceal your collarbone, as the receiver cord of the earpiece is not rigged with the head. This limitation is due to how GTA 5 handles player props, as I am not able to stabilise the base so the cord stays in one place as you turn your character's head.
BUGS:
○ As of this version, hair will clip with the hat. For the time being, I advise you to use hair decal overlays if you want to have the illusion of hair underneath.
HOW TO INSTALL:
These models are rigged as p_head (hat/helmet/prop) components. It is best to use HeySlickThatsMe's MP Clothes mod and rename the .ydd and .ytd files to whatever slot is available for you.
That mod is here: https://www.gta5-mods.com/misc/mpclothes-addon-clothing-slots
Install the hats in the "mp_m_freemode_01_p_mp_m_clothes_01" folder
You should rename any model(s) (.ydd file) to "p_head_[###]" and its/their texture(s) (.ytd) to "p_head_[###]_a_uni" depending on what is the next free numerical file in your MPCloths directory.
For example, you could rename one of the models (.ydd file) to "p_head_017" and its texture (.ytd) to "p_head_017_a_uni" if "p_head_016" was already taken.
CREDITS:
- Activision & Infinity Ward for the model, mesh, and base texture
- Rigging, scaling, and alternate textures by myself
