A rather quick and simple mod that restores the larger plate text size as seen in the very early screenshots and trailers from 2011 and 2012. Not much else to say about it. If you like restoring cut -or beta- content you might be interested in this.
Installation: Add carcols.ymt to update.rpf/x64/data
To clear things up, as said in the title, this changes the license plate text size to the game's default* text size. It makes the text slightly larger, basically. It's a subtle difference, and that's why there's a screenshot literally pointing out said difference.
* = default in this term refers to the plate text size being exactly like in the pre-release material, and the game's default if the game has no license plates at all or the carcols file is deleted.

seems pretty clear to me what the point is...
The point is that it enlarges the letters, leaving less space along the edges of the plate. @WildBrick142, it indeed requires clarification, it's not that obvious.
@WildBrick142 This... is very, very nice. Simple but effective, makes me wonder why this wasn't thought of much earlier. Suppose you don't know what's missing until it's added! (Or rather, in this case, re-added).
I like this. I play on a potato, so I'm running at 450p (900p, 1/2 frame scaling) and it's just a bit too hard to read license plates at full zoom out (I hate close up follow camera in car games). Hopefully this makes a difference
